Chester is in the North-West of England close to the northern end of the border between England and Wales. The River Dee today is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Special Area of Conservation (SAC) making it one of Chester's most important features.
The Quercus project will also help us to plan for a Regional Park for the Dee, setting out a vision for the river corridor's future protection, management and enhancement.
This natural greenspace, in a meander of the River Dee, has been popular place to visit for many years. It brings the countryside close to the heart of the city and makes a valuable link with a less intensively managed rural past
